Earthworks shall be undertaken in a controlled manner so that erosion of disturbed areas is kept to a practical minimum and eroded material is confined within the site.
Haul roads shall be treated as disturbed areas. Without exception any stormwater from disturbed areas shall be directed to temporary silt control measure/s in accordance with any Resource Consent/s, Bay of Plenty Regional Council guidelines and/or the City Plan.
All necessary silt control measures for a particular area of the works shall be in place and operational before beginning any earthworks in that area. The silt control measures shall be adequately maintained throughout the period of any earthworks in that area. Where possible, any clean water from catchment areas above any exposed earthworks areas shall be diverted to avoid contamination and reduce erosion.
