Council operates under a 50 year growth management strategy. The Strategies purpose is to ensure that the Western Bay of Plenty sub region grows and will continue to be a great place to live, work, learn and play. Both Councils also operate under a range of other strategic documents which guide the delivery of growth and infrastructure planning and delivery.
SmartGrowth is generally implemented through both the City Plan and District Plan. This document manage subdivision, land use and development (including infrastructure delivery). All Councils Strategies are important in the delivery of growth and should be considered in the design and development phases of infrastructure delivery.
