Council operates under a 50 year growth management strategy. The purpose of this strategy is to ensure that the Western Bay of Plenty sub-region grows and will continue to be a great place to live, work, learn and play. Council also operate under a range of other strategic documents that guide the delivery of growth and infrastructure planning and delivery.
SmartGrowth is generally implemented through the City Plan. This document manages subdivision, land use and development (including infrastructure delivery). All Council strategies are important in the delivery of growth and should be considered in the design and development phases of infrastructure delivery.
